Recycled Christmas trees are used to provide protection from predators and shade for salmon and steelhead during hot summer months.
Since the 1930’s the East Fork of the Lewis River in Clark County, Wa. has lost over 50% of native salmon and steelhead spawning habitat to commercial activities and heavy silting deposits from flooding. We at Salmon Creek Flyfishers (501-C3, EIN 82-1324916) are dedicated to the improvement of river habitat, responsible land stewardship, and restoration of native salmon and steelhead habitat. The East Fork has beed designated by the WDFW as a “wild steelhead gene bank” and will no longer have fish raised in hatcheries released into it. We need your help! Efforts are underway to correct essential habitats which are critical to smolt survival.
